Special Mail-In Election for Lincoln Public Schools District

In the past five years, enrollment in the LPS district has increased by over 4,000 students. Passing this bond would build two new high schools and one new elementary school. The bond would NOT raise the current tax rate. Learn more:

The bond was discussed and a resolution was passed in support of LPS’ bond at Lancaster County Democratic Party’s Central Committee meeting Jan. 21. We encourage you to vote FOR the bond.

  • This election will be conducted entirely by mail. Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters of the School District on Monday, January 20, 2020.
  • If you’re returning your ballot by mail, please do so by Friday, Feb. 7.
  • Ballots must be received by the election commissioner, 601 N. 46th St by 5 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 11. There is a drop box on the north side of the office.

In order to vote on for the special election, Lincoln residents can register to vote by Jan. 24 at Nebraska’s online voter registration portal or register to vote in person at the election commissioner’s office by Jan. 31.
